"Seeing Port Augusta with a local guide brought the town to life."
Lisa Lumsden, originally a city girl from Adelaide arrived in Port Augusta some 15 years ago in search of outback adventure, since which she's never looked back...
... and her journey's been a diverse one; having trained initially as an occupational therapist she later developed her skills as a custom shoe maker, textile printer and community campaigner.
Lisa's currently a Port Augusta City Councillor, tour guide and the owner of Destination Town - Port Augusta.
Lisa has a deep knowledge of the town's unique history and the personalities that built it.
She also played a pivotal role in creating the renewable energy revolution that's transforming the region through her involvement with the 'Repower Port Augusta' campaign.
For her efforts Lisa was awarded the 2017 Jill Hudson Award for Environmental Protection by the South Australian Conservation Council as well as a South Australian Australia Day commendation for the 'Women who Hold Up Half the Sky' community contribution award.
